Risk Control measure
Athletes colliding whilst training Segregation of sessions - hall to be coned off for different sessions
General public/parents, etc. (risk of collision with athletes) To be allowed to stand outside of hall area
Segregation of sessions (risk of athletes colliding) Segregation of sessions - hall to be coned off for different sessions
Car park areas (collision with vehicles risk) No athletes to train/warm-up in these areas. Athletes to meet in hall area
Young athletes wandering around before or after sessions Young athletes to be picked up/dropped off from hall. Parents/guardians to stop with child until coaching session starts and be back 5 minutes before session ends
Coaching staff'helpers (risk of collision with athletes) All to be aware of other coaching sessions being carried out simultaneously
Slippery floor area (risk of fall) All drinks to be left outside green barriers. Clean indoor shoes to be worn in hall area
Risk of injury due to horseplay All sessions to be controlled. Unruly behaviour or horseplay athlete to be excluded from session

Athletes colliding whilst training Athletes to be briefed on safety prior to session starting
Road running (risk of collision with vehicles) All athletes to wear hi-visibility tops during training on dark nights. Sessions planned to use well-lit paths. All running on public roads to be in single file and running towards oncoming vehicles
Car park areas (risk of collision with vehicles) No athlete to train/warm-up in these areas. Athletes to keep off roads and car park area while waiting for session to start
Young athletes wandering around before or after sessions (risk of abduction) Young athletes to be picked up/dropped off from allocated area, i.e. in front of swings at complex.  Parents/guardians to stop with child until coaching session starts and be back 5 minutes before session ends. No-one allowed to run on his/her own on training sessions
Athletes becoming ill or injured during training sessions Consider use ofmobile phone on remote training sessions
Icy/muddy road/path conditions (risk of slipping/falling) Coaches to assess condition of roads/pavements prior to session. Session to be abandoned in adverse conditions

Athletes colliding whilst training Segregation of sessions. Athletes to keep to inside of allotted lanes when being overtaken. When finished lap or interval athletes to move off track to allocated warm-down/recovery area.
General public/parents, etc. (risk of collision with athletes) To be allowed to stand in front of grandstand and not be allowed onto track area
Segregation of sessions (risk of athletes colliding Athletes participating in session A to warm-down/recover on inside of track; athletes participating in session B to warm-down/recover on outside of track.
Athletes participating in session A to leave bags/jackets/drinks on inside of track (allocated area); athletes participating in session B to leave bags/jackets/drinks on outside of track (allocated area)
