Junior Great North Run - Newcastle - 19th September
The debut of William Crossen (14yrs) and Henry Johnson (11yrs) in the Junior Great North Run - a race of approximately 3 miles, around the quayside at Newcastle. Wave 1 was the 9 - 11 yr olds, and Henry ran a splendid race crossing the line in 15.05. He was not disappointed with his position of 7th overall out of nearly 600 young runners.
Waiting in the wings was a nervous William, who competed in Wave 2 which was 12 - 16 yrs old. The competition field was extremely strong with athletes such as Marcus Cram (son of Steve). However, William ran his socks off with an amazing time of 14.14. He was delighted with his position of 39th out of nearly 1,500 runners.
