Ampleforth 7 mile Trail Race - 11th October
A sunny Sunday gave Sue and Peter Milburn a brilliant setting for the 7m trail race at Ampleforth College, North Yorkshire. 103 runners lined up and set off on an interesting multi-terrain course which was mainly through woodland and single track trails. After only 2 miles on the timber trails Peter found himself in the lead, and he held on to win by more than 75 seconds. Over-50 veteran Peter was delighted with his win: his first for a long time! Sue was pleased to make a return to racing after injury and came home 6th lady and 2nd over-45.

Yorkshire Coast 10K - Scarborough - 11th October
Trish Kay took to Scarborough for the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10K. The weather was perfect for the 900 10k runners and 300 fun runners. Despite suffering from a really bad pain in her ribs part way round Trish really enjoyed the race and finished in 49m 46s.
NYSD X/C - Croft - 11th October
There was only a small turn-out of club members at the opening race of the NYSD
James Askew (36:04) was first member home, in an excellent 14th place, followed by our two 50+ competitors, George Reid (40:46) and John Edmondson (45:33). Barry Geldard (47:24) broke the 48 minute barrier comfortably, with Trish Kay (50:16) and Penny Johnson leading the ladies home. Supervet Ray Todd (52:32) finished next, with Vicky Postle (58:55), Tracey Mckern (59:46) and Indira Hesketh (62:35) completing our ten.
Henry Johnson's debut race in the under 13s category was tough due to headstrong winds and a hilly course. He came in 7th place in 8.59. William Crossen (U15) managed an amazing 4th place over the longer distance with an outstanding 15.45. Ryan Walton (U15) ran for NAAC for the first time this season, and battled the wind to gain 11th place in 17.17. In the under 17s, running approx 6k, Daniel Inglis ran extremely well to take 12th place in 25.01.
Richmond 10K - 18th October
