Blaydon race - 9th June

Swaledale Marathon - 13th June
Twelve runners from ther Club finished this stamina-sapping race but scenic race. First home, in 27th place, was Club Captain Martin Randall who just missed breaking the 4 hours mark by 2 minutes. Janet Raper had a terrific run to finish 40th in 4 hours and 10 minutes, well clear of John Burnside (4:30), Matthew Heron (4:43), Stewart Vernon (4:47), Kevin Greenall (4:58), Martyn Knox (5:05), Ray Todd (o/70!) (5:09), James Carver (5:14), Linda Connelly (5:21), Gail and Hugh Vernon (6:23 and 6:27).
Roman Wall Show Fell race - Hexham - 14th June
Peter and Sue Milburn took part in the Roman Wall Show Fell Race nr. Hexham, covering 4.4 miles with 660 feet of ascent. Sue had a good run to finish 1st over 50 lady in 39.54. Peter - place and time not known).
Tees Forest Trail Race - Summerhill- 18th June
A low turnout of the Club's runners for once. Michelle Scott had an excellent run to finish 1st senior lady in 21:54, followed by Kevin Greenall in 23:47, Ray Todd in 27:05 and Margaret Greenall in 30:11.
N/E Veterans Track Championships - Jarrow - 20th June
Richard Harvey had a successful afternoon here - a narrow win in the 0/65 1500m after a fall on the last bend, and a more comfortable win in the 800m where he managed to stay on his feet all the way!
Aycliffe 10K - Newton Aycliffe - 21st June
James Askew had an excellent run to finish in 13th place in 35:55, with Floyd Jones 21st in 37:37. They were followed by Daniel Inglis (55th - 41:13), Steven Dawson (67th - 42:04), Christine Mudd (167th - 47:05), Dave Thompson (314th - 57:28), Joanne Porter (339th - 59:40), Julie Nisbet (351st - 62:10), Indira Hesueth (354th - 63:31) and Vivianne Boynton (358th - 65:22).
