In the Durham School Cross Country Champs. @ Meadowfield N.A.A.C. had 3 runners representing their schools. JAMES ASKEW had a very good run to come home in 5th place, he will now go through to the next round at Boro, William Crossen come in 40th pos. and Emily Archer 21st position

Starting at the former Fishburn Coke Works Site and along old railway tracks with a loop round Bishop Middleham and back,
Eyebrows were raised when only 6 N.A.A.C. runners turned out, the rest of the 99 members missed out on a good event, 1st back was Martin Randall in 40.57 and second fastest of the day, just behind by 3 secs. Peter Milburn did all he could to keep up with the youngster in front, next youth Coach George Reid having a break from his duties finished in 43.10, then Susan Milburn finishing in 47.27 second fastest lady on the day, next Marathon Specialist John ‘Armani’ Edmondson back in 47.48, next All rounder Simon Robinson finished in 52.31.
