Hartlepool Marina 5m - Marske 10K - Tees Forest - Wensleydale Wander - Redcar 1/2 marathon - Fountains 10K - London marathon - Anne Marie Redshaw Meeting - Sedgefield Handicap - NYSD Track League
Marina 5 miles - Hartlepool - 5th April
There were 272 finishers in this popular 5-miler. Club entrants finished: 37th - Richard Campbell, 31:36, 73rd - David White, 35:32, 112th - John Young, 37:55, 121st - Trish Kay, 38:44, 155th - Ray Todd, 40:37.
Mermaid 10K - Marske - 10th April
5 members of Newton Aycliffe Athletics Club had a nice morning at the seaside on Good Friday as they ran in the Mermaid 10k road race at Marske. The light wind made the running hard along the two stretches of promenade and the last km along the straight coastal road to the finish but the sunny weather and a flat course helped everyone to enjoy the race. First home was Julia Atkinson-Tait (41:35), followed by Janet Raper (45:46), Janet McRae (47:37), Dave McKenzie (49:01) and Trish Kay (49:04). Click here for photos.

Anne Marie Redshaw Memorial Meeting - Shildon - 22nd April
The Club's youngest members were out in force here. Michael Butterfield finished 6th in the final of the boys u/11 60m, and William Denholm, although only 8, also performed well in the same event. Lucy Postle finished 5th in the girls u/11 60m final and Heather Denholm also competed in this event.
Sedgefield 1 mile Handicap - 22nd April
Young competitors from the Club enjoyed this run around Hardwick Park on a warm evening. Henry Johnson finished 2nd boy despite his 40 second handicap, Lucy Postle had a good run to finish 4th girl and Chloe was 2nd in the Y7 group.
Fountains 10K - Ripon - 26th April
Julia Atkinson-Tait (1st F/040), John Edmondson 47:26, Martin Randall, 48:35, Janet McRae, 49:18, John Young, 50:45.
London Marathon - 26th April
Distance successfully completed by all three of our athletes! - Michael O’Sullivan 3:24:30, Mick Beadle 4:13:36, Dave McDonald 4:50:14.
NYSD Track and Field Series - Darlington - 28th April
The first meeting of the season saw Henry Johnson and James Askew post personal bests despite the wet conditions. Although only just 11, Henry produced an excellent run to finish 2nd in the u/13 200m in 30.5 seconds; James achieved an outstanding 2:09 in the senior men's 800m.
